DTangled

“From a single spark light is lit. In a single moment time begins. In a single breath freedom lives, air is bent, the note is sung, the movement starts. In one single thought your idea is born.“

DTangled was born out of an idea to create a fusion between music and movement on the scene for classical music. The music speaks of mans longing for freedom and simplicity. The setting “conducting clarinetist and orchestra” points in a new direction, introducing the new concept of ‘conducting choreography’. Within the piece there is a will to DFormalize the way of classical performance and DCrypt the code of a newborn form of making music on stage. One solo cello begins it all on a D.

Conducting Choreography.
The schematic gestures of a conductor is a formalized body language that every orchestra musician learns to understand. But as all orchestra musicians know the closer you get to the music the less important the actual form of the gesture becomes. The conducting gestures become more a way to communicate breathing expression and emotion. Why not put it all into a dance. Let the dance be the guiding gesture that lead the musicians. Let the upbeat be the stomping of iron soled shoes on the floor and let the flute solo transform into an imaginary bird in the palm of a mans hand.
